Inside The Unfinished Perry Street Cafe

Sunset Junction is closed...no, it's open...oh, what difference does it make?
Perry Street cafe looks to be on the fast track to open. If the choice of curtains in the former Scoop Shop is an indication, the Perry Street Cafe will also be operating an ice cream shop out of the former ice cream shop space. No one I talked to saw a liquor license application posted. I was hoping that someone was finally going to take on the school over the their ridiculous opposition to all restaurant liquor applications. Attention Grant Elementary: Successful neighborhood restaurants are an asset to the neighborhood more so than convenience stores that sell cheap smokes and 40 oz. bottles of Malt Liquor.
MattBites is an amusing food blog from someone who has seen food from the retail side of business. He is not above poking fun at food blog self-importance.
Michael Pollan has an educated response to the recent spinach fiasco. I was happy to see that his article in the New York Times Magazine was the NYT's 5th most emailed article, of course it was right behind 4th place: "In the back, by the Tuba, a star is born". Is Spinach the trombone of the vegetable World?
